Areal versus frontal deglaciation

of the vistulian ice sheet


Poznań, Poland 21-25 September 1998

Programme:

21 September, Monday:Paper session (10-13) and (15-18), it depends on a number of participants.


22 September, Tuesday: start of the excursion at 9.00: Leszno Phase of the last glaciation: macro- and mesoglacitectonites in marginal zones, push moraine ridges, ice-lobe contact sedimentary scarps and vistulian ice-cored moraine ridges (Slawa Slaska ice lobe), accomodation in a hotel (Boszkowo near Leszno).


23 September, Wednesday: start of the excursion at 9.00: Poznań Phase: stationary (Ceradz Koscielny) and recessional landforms (Koszanowo-Podrzewie) - diagnostic sedimentary complexes, accomodation in a hotel (Margonin).


24 September, Thursday: start of the excursion at 9.00: Chodziez sub-phase: processe of glaciomilonitization, subglacial glaciotectonic structures (Ujscie), morphology of push-moraine ridges (Chodziez), hotel in Margonin, evening party.


25 September, Friday: start of the excursion at 9.00: Chodziez sub-phase and marginal landforms along Notec-Warta Pradolina, stratigraphy, glaciotectonic and sedimentary environment. 13.00 - end of the field meeting.


Departure by:
1. bus (for those participants who want come back) to Poznań or
2. train to Warsaw (for those participants who participate in GAGE meeting in Warsaw).

Important:
1. The costs of the meeting are 220 US (meals, hotels and conference material).
2. We don't plan any pre-payment but we need your definitely answer that you will be able come to our conference (because of hotels reservation, meals etc.).
3. We are preparing conference guide with abstract of papers. Please send us title of your lecture and abstract (3-5 pages). 4. It is possible to publish full version of your paper in Quaternary Studies in Poland nr 15 (in the end of this year).
